SUMMARY:Wellness Fest
DESCRIPTION:Moving Seniors Forward will be among dozens of vendors at the 2025 Conejo Senior Volunteer Program’s Wellness Fest from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 15. The theme is “Highway to Health.” More than 60 vendors are expected\, including local businesses\, nonprofit agencies\, public service organizations\, and the city of Thousand Oaks. There will be health screenings\, a Dementia Live experience\, Master Gardener tours\, a raffle and lunch. Shuttles will be available from the library and park to the Goebel Adult Community Center\, 1385 E. Janns Road in Thousand Oaks\, where the event will be held. Admission is free.

SUMMARY:Matter of Balance
DESCRIPTION:Have you fallen? Are you worried about falling? Join us and lea​rn how to prevent falls\, discuss safety techniques to reduce concerns\, and set goals for increasing activity. \nIn this eight-week series\, you’ll learn how to reduce fall risk factors; create action planners addressing behavioral\, environmental and physiological factors that affect your risk for falls; and participate in prompted open discussions surrounding falls. \nThis skill-building class includes exercise to improve strength\, range of motion and flexibility. You’ll learn how to get up from a fall\, if one does occur\, and what to do after a fall. \nYou’ll also receive a textbook with tips and strategies\, as well as personal action planners. A video will be shown of a fall demonstration. Three-quarters of the class will be discussion and learning\, and one-quarter will incorporate exercises that build strength\, flexibility\, coordination and balance. \nWednesdays\, Jan. 29-March 19\, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. \nThe cost is $40\, or $44 for Non-District residents. \nCall 800-900-8582 to join our interest list.
