DESCRIPTION:Moving Seniors Forward will be among the organizations supporting the Salute to the Troops: Heartfelt Tribute to Our Heroes event 1 p.m. on June 15 at Conejo Creek North Park\, Lakeside Pavilion\, in Thousand Oaks. \nThe event\, organized by Moving Seniors Forward associate member organization the Greater Conejo Valley Chapter of America Supporting Americans\, will feature a memorable line-up of performances and speakers: \nSeniors Of Note Big Band: Enjoy the swinging sounds of patriotism with live performances by this talented big band. \nColor Guard – Simi Valley Marine Corps League: A moving presentation of the colors by the Simi Valley Marine Corps League. \nKeynote Speaker – Captain Charlie Plumb: Vietnam veteran and former prisoner of war Captain Charlie Plumb will share his inspiring story of resilience and patriotism. \nRemarks by ASA founder Linda Patterson: The visionary behind America Supporting Americans will speak about the organization’s impact and the future of ASA. \nA virtual Field of Honor is currently featured online. Virtual flags in tribute to veterans and service members may be purchased for $10 each and will be displayed in the virtual “field of honor.” To purchase a flag\, visit ADA online. \nFor the the live event on June 15\, flags in tribute to veterans and service members may be purchased in advance of the event for $25 each and will be displayed in the “field on honor” at the event. They also may be purchased in advance on ADA’s website. \nAmerica Supporting Americans is dedicated to supporting American troops by providing essential assistance and resources to their families at home\, ensuring that no family stands alone. DESCRIPTION:Meet with victim advocate Debbie Deem\, retired victim specialist with the FBI and former coordinator of the Financial Abuse Specialist Team (FAST)\, part of the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office\, for one-on-one coaching on how to avoid being scammed by fraudsters and what to do if you have been. She will provide resources\, support and information.
