SUMMARY:Medical Presentation: Burn injuries and treatment
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Rachel Williams\, a board-certified general and critical care surgeon specializing in burn and wound care at Community Memorial Healthcare\, will present “Burn Injuries and Treatment” from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on April 17 at Camarillo Health Care District\, 3639 Las Posas Road\, in Camarillo. She will discuss the different degrees of burn injury\, how to treat a burn at home and when to go to the hospital for treatment\, and advances in treatment. \nDr. Williams is passionate about helping her patients improve their quality of life. A graduate of Boston University Medical School and the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health\, she completed  her burn and surgical critical care fellowships at Emory University and Grady Memorial Hospital. \nDr. Williams was inspired to pursue wound care after a life-changing trip to Bolivia\, where she volunteered in a burn unit to care for those with limited health access. \nHer practice now focuses on wound care\, hyperbaric medicine and critical care surgery. She commonly treats burns\, pressure and non-pressure ulcers and performs limb salvage surgeries. \nCommitted to serving others\, Dr. Williams volunteers with the American College of Surgeons humanitarian outreach program\, Operation Giving Back and participated in medical missions in Haiti. \nThis is a free presentation\, but registration is required by calling 805-388-1952.

SUMMARY:Medical Presentation: New Treatments for Common Ear\, Nose & Throat Issues
DESCRIPTION:On April 30\, Dr. Saranya Reghunathan\, board certified ENT Specialist in Camarillo\, will discuss common issues with the aging ear\, nose and throat and updated minimally invasive safe treatment options for those who have been suffering. Some of these conditions include chronic rhinitis (runny nose)\, tinnitus (ringing the ear)\, eustachian tube dysfunction (ear blockage and/or fullness and pressure)\, nasal congestion\, chronic cough\, trouble swallowing\, and hoarseness. \nThe presentation will held 12:30-2 p.m. at Camarillo Health Care District\, 3639 Las Posas Road in Camarillo. Registration is required by calling 805-388-1952. \nDr. Reghunathan is a board certified Ear\, Nose & Throat surgeon who practices the entire range of adult and pediatric ENT. She specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of voice\, swallowing and airway disorders. \nA native of  Ventura County\,  Dr. Reghunathan has dedicated her practice to treating common ailments in our local aging population in a minimally invasive fashion in the office. Her goal is to share this information with the community to let them know there are safe and  innovative treatments for these issues that often affect quality of life. She will be discussing advances in technology that can make every day living even more full for patients that have been suffering for years.
