SUMMARY:Depression and Caregiver Well-Being Screening
DESCRIPTION:It is well-documented that long-term\, unrelieved caregiving duties\, especially when caring for loved ones with dementia\, can have negative impacts on the health\, personal\, social and/or financial well-being of the caregiver. Depression and a sense a well-being become significant factors to evaluate. \nThe Caregiver Center utilizes the Zarit Burden Interview to assess a caregiver’s perception of “burden” to see if those areas are being affected\, with a focus on depression\, mental health\, negative affect\, social support\, stress and coping (American Psychological Association)\, as well as the PHQ-9 Depression Screening tool. \nThe PHq-9 is a “multipurpose instrument for screening\, diagnosing\, monitoring and measuring the severity of depression” (National Institute of Health)\, and utilizes a brief self-report tool. The tool rates the frequency of symptoms which factors in the scoring severity index. \nCamarillo Health Care District’s use and/or results of the PHQ-9 is not a diagnosis. It is outside of the District’s scope to diagnose. Self-reported answers indicate scores that can be measured against the categories listed on the tool\, with further desription. It’s imperative that you consult your physician for symptoms of depression. DESCRIPTION:Camarillo Health Care District is working with Clove Dental in Camarillo to bring five dental screenings to the community at no charge through March 2024. All ages are welcome. \nGood oral health is related to good overall health. And regular dental screenings can help recognize issues and provide opportunity for proactive and preventative care. \n\nBrushing and Hygiene Fundamentals will be offered Jan. 17\, 2024.\nDental Check-Up screenings are available Dec. 13\, 2023 and March 20\, 2024.\nOral cancer screenings will be offered Feb. 21\, 2024.\n\nThere are 15-minute time slots available for each screening at 2 p.m.\, 2:20 p.m. and 2:40 p.m. Space is limited. \nClove Dental dentists Dr. Jovhan Jilbert\, Dr. Anish Puri\, Dr. Mahrou Malekan\, Dr. Teddy Baum and Dr. Shalabh Puri will be joined by hygenists Rogelio Jimenez and Dan Maya\, who are all volunteering their time. \nCall the District at 805-388-1952 to set your appointment. \nScreenings will take place at Camarillo Health Care District\, 3639 E.
