A live version of the District’s podcast\, “Stories from the Heart: Inspiring Tales of Life\, Love and Learning\,” will be emceed by Michelle Rogers\, the District’s Community Services manager\, formerly of USA TODAY’s Storytellers Project. SUMMARY:Dementia Live
DESCRIPTION:Dementia Live is a high impact\, dementia simulation experience that immerses participants into life with dementia\, resulting in a deeper understanding of what it’s like to live with cognitive impairment and sensory change. Participants are outfitted in specialized gear and given a series of tasks to perform. The challenges and struggles one faces become very real to the participant\, triggering heightened empathy and understanding\, creating a catalyst for meaningful communication and improving quality of care. We currently have three offerings. \nFriday\,  Nov. 7\, 9 a.m.\, 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. \nPlease register in advance by calling 800-900-8582. There is no charge. The experience takes place at Camarillo Health Care District\, 3639 Las Posas Road\, Camarillo.
